Meet the team

Evelyn Hoy was appointed Chief Executive to the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland in September 2013, after joining the office in June 2012 as Head of Operations. Formerly a civil servant, Evelyn headed up the Good Relations Policy Unit in the Office of the First and deputy First Minister after previously working within the Victims and Survivors Commission, and Gender and Equality Unit. Prior to OFMdFM, she spent 15 years working for the Department of the Environment.

Eddie Lynch is the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland and started his appointment in June 2016. He was re-appointed for a second, four-year term in June 2020. Prior to his appointment, Eddie was the Chief Executive Officer of Age Sector Platform. In this role, he was responsible for managing the organisation's staff and supporting the organisation's board, committees and wider membership in its policy development and campaigns work. 

Eddie joined Age Sector Platform in February 2008 having previously worked at the Consumer Council for five years, where he was Head of Consumer Affairs. Previous to that, Eddie worked as an e-Business Consultant and as an I.T. trainer for a number of years. Eddie’s term of office comes to an end in 2024, when a new Commissioner will be appointed.
